The Ministry of Public Works has announced that a total of 95,369 metric tons of goods were transported via railway over the past week.
These shipments took place between September 11 and September 17, 2025. Of this total, 67,829 tons were transported through Hairatan Port, 5,458 tons through Aqina Port, 12,707 tons through Torghundi Port, and 9,375 tons via the Khaf–Herat railway, making up a combined total of 95,369 metric tons of petroleum, non-petroleum, and other goods imported and exported to and from the country.
Among the shipments, a portion consisted of transit and export goods. In the past week alone, 737 tons of commercial and transit goods were exported, including rice as one of the main items.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works of the IEA stated that it strives to create suitable conditions for transportation and to provide better facilities for traders.
It is worth noting that with the increase in railway transport and exports, more job opportunities are created, national revenues rise, and the path toward economic stability, progress, and self-sufficiency is further paved.
